Kai went to his first Philippine Independence Parade this past Sunday! Once again surrounded by women, he was loving the limelight. He also got to see Auntie Liz perform 2 songs, and he always does a good job of keeping her nerves down before showtime! Kai was wearing the coolest shirt, which read “HAITIAN PINOY (courtesy of Ninang Shar)!

We celebrated Kai's birthday in Riverside Park yesterday…enjoyed the sun, ate some cheeseburgers, and had some yummy cupcakes from Buttercup Cafe! Auntie Edna and Grandma Emy (Ninong Ray's mom and grandma) were in town too!
They’re still in Haiti, so while they’re gone, I have to keep looking at old pictures of Kai! I miss him so much! I told Cyn, "How can I update his website with him THERE??!" haha…This is a flashback shot of Kai in Haiti of his first experience at the beach — spitting image of Cyn.
Cute update: Kai’s trying to sing! Cyn says he’s been trying to copy Mom and Dad when they sing! Sooo cute….
That seems to be the question most asked! Kai is now back in HAITI! He flew back with Mommy and Daddy on April 22nd! He is LIVIN’ THE LIFE OF A ROCKSTAR!!! hahaha….
What an amazing weekend it was in lovely Los Angeles! Sunny days like these past few days make me wonder why I'm in NY!!! It was in the mid-80s. It was an action-packed weekend! I flew in for my 15 year high school reunion. Cyn, Paul, Kai also flew in for a benefit they had! So it was a packed house at the Casasolas! It was nice to hang out at home and be with my parents again.
I felt a little jipped though, in terms of my quality time with Kai…I only really got to hang out with him on Sunday, the day we had to leave, and I was SOOO SAD. He gets bigger and bigger every time I see him. But we had such an amazing time! We lounged and jammed by the pool — we had so many talented musicians staying at the house! We had to have a full-on acoustic session! (Video below) Our close friends Quinn and Angelica came by and hung out too & brought their newborn, ZIYA — Kai's new best friend. They both have the Hawaiian, chill spirit!

I love my Kai Kai! Ang & Quinn came over with their little one, Ziya!
Hanging in the cold jacuzzi!
Double trouble! Ziya and Kai! Jammin' poolside — what a day!
Kai is now in lovely Los Angeles, the birthplace of his Mom and his favorite Auntie (Auntie Liz!)…also where Lolo and Mommy Remy reside! haha…I heard that his 6 hour plane ride to LA was a breeze — so much so, that the flight attendants were commenting on how good he was! Cyn has a trick — she feeds him before and after landing!
I asked her "What did Kai do when he was awake?" She said "Play, look out the window, hang out". God, I love this boy!
Ray and I leave for LA today, so there’ll be plenty more Kai pictures coming up! I just realized we are officially Kai groupies — we seem to be following him wherever he goes! Zing Experience has a benefit in LA and the proceeds go to Haiti. Forrest Whitaker will be hosting! Very exciting.
This blog entry is so long overdue! FYI, "Ayibobo" is a Haitian word which means "AMEN! Hallelujah!"
Kai used his passport for the first time, to visit his Dad’s homeland — HAITI! Cyn, Paul, and Kai have been in Haiti since March 21st. Auntie Liz, Uncle Ray, Lolo and Mommy Remy went to visit them from April 3-9! We missed them so much!
Some highlights from our trip:
– Re-uniting with Kai at the Port-au-Prince Airport; he got SO BIG! – Kai watching his Mommy in her dance performance at the French Institute — he KNEW it was his Mom, and he was absolutely MESMERIZED watching her dance. – Experiencing many rolling black-outs, not only at home, but in the bars! – Visiting the marketplace, and haggling for fruits, just like in the Philippines. Haiti reminded us a lot of the Philippines actually! – Seeing Kai’s face, the FIRST time he went to the beach, and into the ocean! He was definitely giving his name meaning — "peaceful ocean". – Seeing Kai hang out with both sets of grandparents at the SAME time! – Watching Uncle Ray get corn rows!

Check out how FOCUSED Kai is on his Grandma (Paul’s mom) as she performs at the French Institute — he is the best audience member! Kai is constantly surrounded by music!
I meant to post this sooner, and realized I hadn’t!
Last March 18th, the ladies had a GNO (girls’ night out) to support our dear friend Mally, as she promoted her new spring cosmetic line at Henri Bendel’s! She is so talented! Check out her work at mallybeauty.com and mallyroncal.com! She is SUPERWOMAN!
We brought Kai along to the event, and he was a BIG HIT with the ladies. We have to take advantage of the fact that Kai doesn’t know any better, as we bring him along to these girly events! But he had a great time being ADORED by all the women there!
