This blog entry is so long overdue! FYI, "Ayibobo" is a Haitian word which means "AMEN! Hallelujah!"
Kai used his passport for the first time, to visit his Dad’s homeland — HAITI! Cyn, Paul, and Kai have been in Haiti since March 21st. Auntie Liz, Uncle Ray, Lolo and Mommy Remy went to visit them from April 3-9! We missed them so much!
Some highlights from our trip:
– Re-uniting with Kai at the Port-au-Prince Airport; he got SO BIG!
– Kai watching his Mommy in her dance performance at the French Institute — he KNEW it was his Mom, and he was absolutely MESMERIZED watching her dance.
– Experiencing many rolling black-outs, not only at home, but in the bars!
– Visiting the marketplace, and haggling for fruits, just like in the Philippines. Haiti reminded us a lot of the Philippines actually!
– Seeing Kai’s face, the FIRST time he went to the beach, and into the ocean! He was definitely giving his name meaning — "peaceful ocean".
– Seeing Kai hang out with both sets of grandparents at the SAME time!
– Watching Uncle Ray get corn rows!

Check out how FOCUSED Kai is on his Grandma (Paul’s mom) as she performs at the French Institute — he is the best audience member! Kai is constantly surrounded by music!
