Catching Up with Kai and Keila

When asked what he wanted to do on his birthday, Kai replied with "Go to church" (wow, what a good boy!) and "Go to Chucky Cheese"!  Where a kid can be a kid.  Kai's Ninongs and Ninangs were there in full effect too, and we all were kids that night.  A Monday night no less! Happy Birthday Kai Kai — we LOVE you so much.  You're growing up way too fast.

It felt like we went away to a Caribbean island for Cyn's Birthday this year — but really we were at Habana Alma de Cuba in the West Village.  It was so nice being surrounded with the warmth of close friends and good food (altho it was freezing cold outside!)  You can never really go wrong with that combination.  Paul ended the night with a serenade on his guitar to Cyn.  Cyn had tears in her eyes — it was so sweet.  Then Cyn and Paul sang a few songs together as well.  It was a birthday treat for all of us!  Poor Keila had a bit of a fever, so she wasn't her usual social self — but she still was able to put on a brave face.  Kai, as usual, was Mr. Social Butterfly.

Ninang Eugenia always has cool events at her space — Skylight.  She invited Kai and Cyn to an amazing kids' event, and Kai had a BLAST.  Thanks Ninang Eug!

It's that time of year when the Big Apple Circus comes through NYC.  And how lucky are we that it's held a mere 10 minutes from our apartment at Lincoln Center.  It was so great that Mommy Remy and Lolo were in town to go to the circus too.  Unfortunately, Bubba had work.

Kai and Keila celebrated their first Halloween in NYC! And boy, did they love it.  We had some good friends over — Luz, Richie, Baby Zen, Goldie, Lauren, Mateo and our neighbors Yaw, Yelena, and their kids Misha and Hannah over.  Our apartment building throws the BEST Halloween party in our Function Room and they dress up the room in true Halloween fashion, complete with scary skulls, witches, and a Haunted House! Mommy Remy and Lolo stopped over from their Israel Pilgrimage to enjoy the festivities.

Trick or Treat!!!!! We all love Halloween so much.  Funny that Kai didn't really care about how much candy he received.  It was all about hanging out with everyone.

Tita Anne had her first ever Art Show/Make-A-Wish Benefit, and Kai and Keila had a blast.  Not sure where my photos of Kai went — he took a long nap during the party.  But here's Keila being the social butterfly that she is.

We flew home to LA for an August weekend — we love being in LA during the summer.  It's all about the sun, swimming in the pool, hanging out with Lolo and Mommy Remy, and seeing friends.

Kuya Reggie's first visit to our home. We loved having him over.Alan visited for the first time too. He just moved to LA and that was his first day.

We visited Ninang Ardiddy and Tito Pogi Brian in their new LA home, and met their

first-born beautiful, baby boy CEDRO!

      Have to visit our favorite neighborhood restaurants when we're in town: Nobu and Dukes.

We love throwing pinoy potlucks at home, and getting friends together to catch up.  Funny thing is though we're all so busy, we end up just ordering from a restaurant.  Not much of a potluck, but still a good time.  Kai and Keila love our potlucks and having people over.  They are so SOCIAL.

Tita Bubba LOVES when the kids visit her at work.  The entire office goes googoo-gaga, and they all stop working to play with them.  We also ate at our favorite Korean fried chicken joint in the area — BON CHON CHICKEN!
